About the Raleigh Market
The Raleigh-Durham-Cary Triangle market is a key research and high-tech hub of the Southeastern United States, and features the world-famous Research Triangle Park, a 7,000 acre development, home to more than 170 companies and employing over 39,000 workers. Encompassing more than 80 million square feet of office, R&D, and industrial space, the Triangle market outperformed national metrics over the past several years because of the strong education, government, technology and biotechnology, and health-care sectors that undergird the market’s foundation and are the main economic drivers for the United States. Known for having one of the most well-educated workforces in the nation with nearly 50% of adults over 25 holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, the local economy benefits substantially – and is named for – the educational powerhouses of Duke University, the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, and North Carolina State University.
