Professional Expertise

Katie has 15 years of experience in economic development, in both the private and public sectors. She performs location analysis and economic incentives procurement work for corporate clients on a national basis. Since coming to Cassidy Turley in 2005 she has negotiated $115 million in incentives for over 8 million square feet of office and industrial space. Katie manages a team responsible for over $230 million in incentives and nearly 11 million square feet of office and industrial space.

Katie joined Cassidy Turley after serving as Director, Indianapolis Economic Development, The Indy Partnership. Prior to that, she served as Executive Director of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation and filled a number of economic development positions at the City of Indianapolis under multiple administrations.

Major Transactions

• Beckman Coulter – Multiple incentives packages totaling about $9 million over multiple years, 635 jobs and almost $40 million investment.

• EnerDel – Corporate headquarters and assembly plant improvements, $100 million investment, 850 jobs. Secured almost $15 million in incentives.

• SMC Corporation of America – 627,500 SF corporate headquarters and primary manufacturing, engineering, and distribution center, $44 million investment, 733 jobs. Secured over $18 million in incentives for original project and have assisted with all subsequent expansions.

• Becton, Dickinson and Company – Multiple North Carolina facilities including manufacturing, research and development, and office. Performed location analysis work and secured over $15 million in incentives.

• Arcadia Resources, Inc. – Secured over $6 million in incentives for corporate headquarters relocation and new pharmacy fill operation.

• Humana – Secured incentives for a new call center in Phoenix, Arizona.

• Amcor Rigid Plastics North America – 700,000 SF manufacturing facility in Wytheville, VA, $100 million investment, 144 jobs Secured $7.5 million in incentives, including cash grants, free land, and tax credits.

• Viracon, Inc. – 220,000 SF manufacturing facility in St. George, Utah, $26 million investment, 250 jobs created. Searched 4 states to select a single SW site. Procured over $2 million in incentives, including tax credits, grants, and training assistance.

• Epson America, Inc. – 750,820 SF distribution center and repair depot, $27.6 million investment, 478 jobs. Secured payroll tax and investment tax credits, training grants, and property tax abatement.

• Belden Americas – 31,000 SF 10-year lease, $550,000 capital investment, 80 new jobs. Secured almost $800,000 in economic incentives.

• Allegis Group, Inc. – Performed multiple consulting assignments studying 20 different markets.
